SAVAGE BEATING OVER A SHOVEL! Fort Rixon man ties up and whips teen brother for coming home late

A FORT Rixon man went full-blown savage — tying up his 14-year-old brother and whipping him senseless for returning late after a simple errand!

Brandon Moyo (24) of Zimbili, Japan area, has landed himself in hot soup after he was hauled before the Bulawayo magistrate’s court for assaulting his younger sibling in a shocking case of domestic brutality.

Appearing before magistrate Evelyn Madzikatire, Moyo pleaded guilty to violating the Domestic Violence Act, and was sentenced to 24 months behind bars — with eight months suspended, and the remaining 16 months converted to 560 hours of community service at Zimbili Primary School.

The court heard that on 30 March 2025, Brandon flew into a rage when his younger brother returned home later than expected after being sent by their grandmother to borrow a shovel.

But instead of a lecture or a scolding, the teen got a horror show — the court heard how Brandon tied his hands with a shoelace and lashed him with a rope and sjambok, delivering multiple blows all over his body.

The beating only stopped when a concerned neighbour, alerted by the boy’s screams of pain, rushed over and physically pulled Brandon off the child.

The matter was reported to police, leading to Brandon’s swift arrest.

“He beat me because I came back late . . . I couldn’t find the shovel,” the young victim told the court.

What started as a simple chore ended in blood, bruises and betrayal.
All over a missing shovel — Brandon dug his own legal grave!
