A BULAWAYO family is racing against time to save the life of their six-month-old baby boy who needs urgent heart surgery in India.
Little Nduduzo Tirivashe Ndhlela, a twin, has been diagnosed with a string of life-threatening heart defects and needs US$30 000 for a complicated open-heart operation before August 6.
His devastated father Hlahlani Ndhlela says the operation is not available in Zimbabwe and must be done in India where specialists are on standby.
“This is not just a medical emergency. It’s life and death. Our son is not thriving. He has a congenital heart defect and needs surgery immediately,” said Ndhlela.
Nduduzo suffers from Transposition of the Great Vessels (TGV/A), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV).
The US$30,000 will cover the surgery, flights for both twins and their parents, and post-operative care.
The family is pleading with well-wishers, corporates and government departments to step in and save Nduduzo’s life.
Every dollar counts. Every minute matters.
