GOSPEL musician Lasper, real name Tafadzwa Ncube, recently held a drug abuse awareness campaign in Bindura.
The entertainer introduced the song Guka Mutoriro, which urges the young generation to desist from drugs and other social ills.
The Bindura-bred musician engaged Chipindura High School and Little Lilly Primary School on this song.
Lasper said his heart bleeds for the young people who are dying after consuming drugs.
“It’s sad to see the young people losing lives after taking Guka/Mutoriro. The issue of Guka is happening everywhere in Zimbabwe, so I decided to pen this song and shoot an accompanying video to show the bad side of Mutoriro.
“As a gospel musician, I joined forces with pupils from Chipindura High School and Little Lilly Primary School so that we could encourage the youths not to take drugs. We will shoot the video tomorrow (today) and then take scripts from the awareness campaign.
“As the young generation, we say no to drugs because we are the future fathers and mothers.
“During this campaign I received help from honourable Kenneth Musanhi, Zimbabwe Republic Police (Chiwaridzo) and Mubatirapamwe Trust, which is led by Christine Madamombe, and Dr Mertha Nyamande.
Fellow entertainers NokStars, Bindura Dancing Stars, Infinity Diamond, Fifth Warriors and Maskiri Bike Team also took turns to entertain those who graced the campaign.
