The first batch of Zimbabwean students drawn from the country’s 10 provinces left Thursday for Zambia where they will undertake various programmes under the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa-University of Zambia Scholarship (ED-UNZA).

In a brief statement on its Twitter handle, @InfoMinZW, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said the ED-UNZA Scholarship programme will have all costs covered by FBC Bank as part of its social corporate responsibility.

“The bank also donated laptops and tablets on top of catering for the tuition of the Zimbabwean and Zambian students,” reads the statement.

“The ED-UNZA Scholarship Programme will sponsor students to the University of Zambia annually.

“It will also sponsor Zambian students who will study at any State university of their choice in Zimbabwe. Selected degree programmes are in line with Zimbabwe’s policies on human capital.”
