Mugurehouse Institute has established a scholarship fund designed to assist academically gifted and vulnerable students as part of efforts to uplift the lives of underprivileged Zimbabwean children.
Named in honour of the late Dr Daniel Chapinga, the institute’s founder, the fund provides partial scholarships to help deserving children cover their school fees.

Mugurehouse Institute director Ms Chipo Mutandwa emphasised the scholarship’s role in helping students achieve their educational goals.

“The institute’s board of directors established this scholarship fund in memory of Dr Chapinga’s vision,” she said.

“His dream of creating a school that welcomed students from diverse backgrounds was a driving force behind Mugurehouse’s founding.

“Unfortunately, due to Dr Chapinga’s untimely passing, the scholarship program could not be implemented immediately.”

The board finally decided to launch the initiative, honouring her late husband’s legacy this year.

“The scholarship fund offers partial scholarships to academically gifted, sports-oriented, and vulnerable children in Forms 1, 2, 3 and 5,” Ms Mutandwa said.
