A 17-year-old Founders High School female student in Bulawayo was allegedly pepper sprayed before she was bundled into a car by a Honda Fit crew that allegedly drugged and raped her at a house believed to be a sex haven in Emganwini suburb.
The student whose identity is withheld for ethical reasons was walking alone to her home when a black Honda Fit with tinted windows made an abrupt stop in front of her. The car had three occupants including a driver and according to a source close to investigations, two males disembarked from the car, grabbed her by her hand and pepper sprayed her before bundling her into the car.
The source said while in the car, the girl had her face covered with a piece of cloth and they drove her to a house in Emganwini suburb where they allegedly drugged and raped her. The girl woke up the following morning to find herself in a room sleeping on a bed with blood stains on her private parts and feeling sharp pains from her private parts. When she looked around she could only see her uniform but her shoes, underwear, and hat had disappeared.
There were also used condoms on the floor.
“Fear gripped her when she discovered that she was at an unknown place and she was alone in the room. She wore her uniform and escaped through a window and ran to a neighbour’s house where she sought R10 bus fare, after that, she headed to Donnington Police Station where she reported the matter,” said the source.
Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident: “We are investigating a case where a teenage girl was kidnapped and detained at a house where it is believed she was raped.”
