On Wednesday, the Transparency International-Zimbabwe launched “The School of Integrity,” in a bid to inspire, build, groom and nature the youths to keep align with tenets of honesty and diligence, to stand up and fight against corruption as corruption affects everyone.
Transparency International is an international voluntary association founded in 1993 by former employees of the World Bank. Based in Berlin, and it’s currently chaired by Delia Ferreira.
Its a non-profit and non-governmental purpose is to take action to combat global corruption with civil societal anti corruption measures and to prevent criminal activities arising from corruption.
Its most notable publications include the Global Corruption Barometer and the Corruption Perceptions Index. Transparency International serves as an umbrella organisation.
In Zimbabwe, Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI-Z) was founded in 1996 and its a non-profit, non- partisan, systems oriented local chapter of the Transparency International movement against corruption headed by Tafadzwa Chikumbu.
The event was held at Meikles Hotel under the theme “Your right, Your role: Building a generation of integrity.”
The School of Integrity consist of 50 different students across the 10 provinces in Zimbabwe and currently operating virtually.
