Schools tussle for Coca-Cola provincial championships title

THE Copa Coca-Cola “Crazy for Good” provincial soccer champions in both the boys and girls categories will be known later today.
District champions in Bulawayo will clash at Gifford High School, in Matabeleland North, Gloag High School will be abuzz with activity with Mzingwane High School playing host to the Matabeleland South championships.
Gifford High School will have Luveve, Mzilikazi, Induna, Mpopoma  and Amhlophe High Schools taking part in the Under-16 boys’ Bulawayo provincial finals.

In the girls category the school which qualified are Masotsha, Sikhulile, Sobukhazi, Montrose,  Maranatha  and Ihlathi High Schools.
John Nzima, the headmaster in charge of soccer in Bulawayo declared yesterday that they are ready for the Gifford competition.

Matabeleland North hosts Gloag High School headmaster Gamuledu Ncube said they were ready and looking forward to great games.
Last year’s provincial champions Hwange High School will be the team to beat.

Chilisa, Regina Mundi, Tsholotsho,  Mahlothova, Somvubu,  Mpumelelo and Siansundu will take part in the boys’ finals with Somvubu, Mosi-oa-Tunya,  Jotsholo,  Mavela, Sojini,  Majiji, Tohwe and Manjolo  High Schools taking part in the girls’ Under-17 segment.

Matabeleland South games at Mzingwane High School kicked-off yesterday with the girls playing up to semi-final stage.
The semi-finalists are Mzimuni, Silonga, Nswazi and Malungudzi.

In the boys’ category Mzingwane High School will be the team to beat.
Embakwe, Thekwane, Gohole,  Mzinyathini, Vembe, Wanezi, Gwanda, Silonga  and Manama High Schools are taking part in the boys’ finals.
