A new science fiction movie, “Element- X”, is expected to be launched tomorrow at the Book Cafe.
Van AJ Clause, who co-produced and directed the movie, said everything was in place and he hopes to get corporate support for his production.
“We are hoping to get financial support from the corporate sector so that we continue with other projects since we have another film ‘The Amalgamated’, a franchise of the blockbuster movies which is set to be released in the second quarter of this year,” he said.
He said “Element-X” was inspired by a feature version of the same title which was written by a comic company Coolsplash Media Inc. “It is a story of X, who was trying to restore his commander and friend’s memory by turning his friend’s normal day into a practical nightmare of supernatural adventures.
“X wanted his friend Sean to reboot because he was the only one powerful enough to stop the war they were in the middle of,” he said.
He said they tried to be unique in that they came up with genre that is not popular in Zimbabwe.
“Our fan base so far is international in all senses, these are young stars that are into science fiction but we are also hoping that after the premiere, the movie will have an impact here in Zimbabwe since we are Zimbabweans and it would be good if people appreciate it,” he said.
The cast features youths between the ages of 21 to 25 some of whom are first time actors while others have been in the industry before.
