Scotland’s pursuit of Premier League status was bolstered by an unlikely trio from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
King Nadolo, Cleopas Dube, and MaClive Phiri were flying the flag for Northern Region football, injecting a unique blend of Bulawayo flair and determination.
These three talented superstars, all hailing from Bulawayo, were integral to Scotland’s push for top-flight promotion. Their journeys, intertwined with stints at local Zimbabwean giants Highlanders, demonstrate the global reach of Scotland’s appeal.
Nadolo, Dube, and Phiri, all former Bosso players, have seamlessly adapted to Scotland’s fast-paced football.
Phiri, meanwhile, brings a fresh perspective, having risen through the ranks of Zimbabwean football.
“Scotland’s Bulawayo players bring to the club a special energy,” Scotland founder, Scott Sakupwanya said.
“We’re hungry to prove ourselves, and our Zimbabwean connection brings an extra edge.”
Sakupwanya continued: “Growing up in Mabvuku, I learned to be resilient. And that is the mind set that helps us thrive in Scotland’s competitive environment.”
Sakupwanya also highlighted the role of Alan Gahadzikwa, a fellow seasoned midfielder who also once donned Bosso’s iconic jersey.
“Gahadzikwa’s experience and guidance have been invaluable. He paved the way for us. Having the locals playing alongside these talented lads from Bulawayo is surreal. We’re united in our quest for PSL glory.”
Scotland’s founder went on to praise the trio’s impact.
“King, Cleopas, and MaClive bring a unique dynamic. Their Bulawayo roots have added depth and creativity to our squad.”
