SCOTTLAND TARGET TUTANI

DIVISION One specialist coach, Arthur “Tuts” Tutani, has been targeted by the Scottland FC leadership as the man to secure a Premiership ticket for the ZIFA Northern Region Division One team.

Tutani was shown the exit by Triangle on Tuesday, after registering 11 points out of the available 21, in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One.

Triangle scored 15 goals and conceded five goals under Tutani’s guidance.

Triangle are nine points behind Wangu Mazodze, who are leading the race in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One Soccer League.

However, the Chiredzi side have a game in hand, which could reduce the deficit to six points, should they collect maximum points.

But, Scottland FC, a flamboyant club owned by Mabvuku-Tafara legislator, Scott Sakupwanya, and backed by scores of his business partners, are eyeing the veteran coach.

Tutani’s recent success in ZIFA Northern Region Division One soccer league came two seasons ago when he guided Simba Bhora into the domestic Premiership.

“We have been monitoring Tutani since the start of the season and it has always been our wish to work with him either as the coach or technical director.

“We are fully aware of his situation and we are still considering what is best for the team but we are not dismissing any possibility of him joining us,” said a source at Scottland FC.

The club have already roped in former Warriors captain, William Mugeyi, to help them on a consultancy basis.

Mugeyi is from Mabvuku.

Tutani told Zimpapers Sport he has no hard feelings with the Triangle United leadership.

“I gave my all to the team and it’s just unfortunate that we were not moving with the expected speed.

“I’m fully responsible for this separation because I was the captain of the ship and there are no excuses to that.

“I haven’t decided anything yet, but I believe sooner or later I’m supposed to be back in the dugout doing what pays the bills,” said Tutani.

Scottland FC are just six points adrift of new leaders, Black Rhinos, who appear to have found their rhythm.
