Scottland unveils new kit

Northern Region Soccer League title chasers, Scottland unveiled their new kit yesterday in the capital ahead of a blockbuster top-of-the-table clash with leaders MWOS at Ngoni Stadium in Norton this  afternoon.

The kit was supplied by Cikers Galaxy, a company founded by Walter “Ringers” Musanhu, who is also the founder of Jadel Academy, a dominant football academy on the local scene.

Musanhu said they are dedicated to modernise Zimbabwean football through technology and design.

They have already worked with different professional football teams including local topflight sides CAPS United and Bikita Minerals.

“The brand name is Cikers, the plant is in Beijing, China,” said Musanhu. We are trying to bring the new modern technology to our nation supporting football. We started a long time ago, but we were not recognised. However, with the quality of kits we have now it shows we have evolved.

“For me it’s all about passion. I like designing and always do something unique.

Musanhu said they are working with Scottland on many fronts and they will also be developing junior talent.

“Jadel is like a sister club to Scottland and we will be chipping in on the development part as we will be the biggest feeder to the club.

Scottland, who are in the race to gain promotion in the topflight, believe the partnership with Cikers is a clear indication of their efforts to be a professional side and change the face of football in the country.

Scottland secretary-general, Fortune Bgwoni said the club is motivated to raise the standard of professionalism in football in the country as they set eyes on being promoted to the topflight.

“This gesture of dressing well, we are in the race to gain promotion. PSL is professional, if we go there we don’t want to be new kids on the block. We want to look professional like people, who were prepared before.”
