The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church has constructed a clinic in Lower Gweru as part of its social responsibility programmes. The clinic, which is under Chief Sogwala, is expected to open its doors to the public next month. In an interview, SDA Central Zimbabwe Conference president Mr Jothamu Manyakara said the church would embark on programmes to uplift disadvantaged people in communities.

“The SDA church noticed the need for a health facility in Gatawa in Lower Gweru which is under Chief Sogwala and we decided to respond. We have constructed the clinic because it is the church’s duty to help uplift lives especially for the disadvantaged. We have completed the construction of the clinic and now await to hand it over to the Ministry of Health and Child Care,” he said. Mr Manyakara said the clinic was constructed under a programme called “Zunde” which is part of the church’s social responsibility programme and reaching out to the communities.
