SATURDAY night next week will see one of Bulawayo’s most decorated songstresses, Novuyo Seagirl being roasted at the National Art Gallery in Bulawayo at an event that is being organised by Umahlekisa Entertainment.
Dubbed the “Roast of Novuyo Seagirl”, the event will see the house muso being raked over the coals by a wild panel of roasters consisting of noticeable names in the showbiz circles. Ntando Van Moyo, the founder of Umahlekisa Entertainment will be the roast master on the night with the panel comprising Stewie Le Savage, Qeqe Mntambo, Thando Gwinji and surprise individuals.
Ntando Van Moyo said people should come in their numbers to witness the story of Novuyo Seagirl being told in a comical manner.
“We’ve been doing roast shows in the country and this is the first time a female artiste is being roasted in a comedy setup. It’s an opportunity to let things out there and for her to attack the things around her – controversies and the good stuff and celebrate her achievements.”
He said this will also be an opportunity for Novuyo Seagirl to be closer to her fans as a roast takes someone with courage to take jabs.
“For the panel, we’ve selected people who are close to her and those she works with. People shouldn’t be shocked to see people like her ex-boyfriend or media personnel who know stories about her on the panel,” said Ntando Van Moyo.
