The search for two-year-old Asanda Ndhlovu, who was allegedly abducted at Meikles Mall on Tuesday, is continuing, with authorities yet to uncover any solid leads.

The child’s family was gripped by renewed anxiety after her aunt, Sandisiwe Sibanda, received a call from an unknown number claiming the toddler had been spotted in Entumbane. Police swiftly responded to the tip-off and searched the area, but no trace of the child was found.

“The call gave us hope, and for a moment we thought we might be getting somewhere,” Sibanda said.
“We rushed to Entumbane with the police, but it led to nothing. Every minute that passes without Asanda is unbearable. I cannot begin to explain the fear and anguish her parents are feeling. We have been to every possible place and spoken to countless people, but there is still no trace of her. We are desperate for anyone who might know something to come forward. Every lead, no matter how small, could make a difference.”

Police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed that investigations are ongoing, but authorities have not yet located the child or received any credible information regarding her whereabouts.
Meanwhile, the family and community continue to appeal to the public for assistance.

“Asanda is just two years old. She is small, innocent and belongs with her family,” Sibanda said. “We are asking the public to stay alert, check their surroundings and report anything that might help. Time is critical, and we cannot give up hope.”
