All is set for the four- day Second Diaspora Investment Conference that will be held in Masvingo beginning tomorrow.

The conference is being hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Dr Frederick Shava.

The hybrid conference will be held in a virtual and physical format under the theme, “Celebrating Diaspora Participation through a mutually Beneficial Partnership for National Development and Sustained Economic Growth.”

It will run from tomorrow until Sunday.

Participants will be drawn from various Government ministries, departments and agencies that will showcase opportunities in their various sectors with various associations of Zimbabweans in the Diaspora being provided with a platform to engage the MDAs and ask questions.

Government has been saying Zimbabweans living abroad have a critical role to play in the country’s development through investments and remittances.

Between January and October last year, Zimbabweans in the diaspora remitted approximately US$1,47 billion amid calls by analysts for Government to craft investment instruments to facilitate their involvement in the country’s economy.

Government has also been urged to tap into expertise and skills garnered by Zimbabwe’s expatriates.
