Secretaries are windows

Muchena said the secretaries’ behaviour had a bearing on corporates.
In a speech read on her behalf by Manicaland provincial development officer Ms Chido Tsinakwadi at a secretary’s winter school, Dr Muchena said a good reception and attitude to clients was important.

“We need to have a team in our offices which is dynamic and ICT compliant to remain competitive, not only in the private sector, but the public sector as well,” Dr Muchena said.
She said secretaries, also known as the executive team, should embrace appropriate technological developments, which makes communication channels and information systems more efficient.

Speaking at the same event, Vice Chancellor at the Women’s University in Africa Professor Hope Sadza said educational attainment, economic participation and political empowerment are important dimensions core to unleashing the power of women.

Prof Sadza is the patron of the National Secretaries Convention.
She said secretaries should not be too comfortable, but should strive towards attainment of higher qualifications.
