SEASONED entrepreneur and business strategist, Ms Teverai Chigogo-Nhapi, has urged women to secure markets before venturing into agribusiness.

She was speaking at a seminar hosted by Women in Agriculture on empowerment and collaboration in agripreneurship at the Centre of Total Transformation in Spitzkop, Harare, at the weekend.

“As executive chairperson of BRICS-Women’s Business Alliance Zimbabwe Chapter, we look for connections in agribusiness that allow you to have the market for your product before getting into farming production,” she said.

Ms Chiedza Mahovo, a farmer, entrepreneur and co-founder of Unparalled Women, encouraged female farmers to do livestock production as a way to improve their livelihood.

“I encourage you to be consistent during livestock farming because it requires more attention and money to start a business-like piggery,” she said.

“Livestock production can change your life since we have many markets locally such as Surrey and Koala.”

Founder of Agricultural Outreach Ms Chido Deketeke said their goal was to motivate each-other in agriculture and business as well as fundraising to support agricultural projects for women and children.
