Securico boss lands top African award

weekend. The awards, organised by the Institute of Leadership and Management, recognise efforts of individuals and organisations that have distinguished themselves in their contribution to the growth and development of Africa.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs Ndhlukula acknowledged the hard work that is being done by women in Africa.
“Let me take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of my whole team, I dedicate this award to my wonderful country Zimbabwe, to all the women of Africa who struggle everyday for justice, peace and prosperity, I dedicate it gain to all the women who have inspired me and those that I have inspired,” she said.

Some of the recipients for 2013 also included Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi, Lifestyle Holdings founder and CEO Mr Tawanda Nyambirai, Nigerian Aisha Suluiman Achimugu, Ugandian Professor Maggie Kigozi, the late Ghanaian president John Atta Mills among other notable African luminaries.

Previous African Achievers’ Award recipients include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President of Malawi Joyce Banda, Deputy Prime Minister Thokozani Khupe, Babatunde Raji Fashola San — governor of Lagos State of Nigeria.

Mrs Ndhlukula was last week also honoured by Empretec Zimbabwe for being one of the Most Influential Entrepreneurs in post-independent Zimbabwe.

Securico  has grown phenomenally since its formation 14 years ago to become one of the leading employers in the country employing about 3 600 people, 900 of them women.

It has revolutionalised service quality in the industry and reshaped perceptions about the industry as low paying and a haven for desperate job seekers.
