SEED Co has hosted a career guidance day for schoolchildren, allowing learners to explore different professions and helping them identify potential future career paths.

The event brought together pupils from various schools.

Beyond career exposure, the company highlighted its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including scholarships for talented yet underprivileged students to pursue tertiary education.

One of the beneficiaries, Dr Danmore Chinsala, shared his inspiring journey as a product of Seed Co’s scholarship programme.

Dr Chinsala, who is now the company doctor at Seed Co Stapleford, said the organisation’s support enabled him to fulfil a dream he had nurtured from a young age.

“Having completed my ‘A’ Levels at Harare High School and achieving 19 points in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics, I had a great vision for my future,” he said.

Speaking during the event, Seed Co group human resources executive Ms Takura Pwiti encouraged learners to remain focused, resilient and patient in pursuit of their goals.

“Sometimes hard things make us stronger. Hard times make us sad, but they make us stronger,” she said.

“You have to be patient so that you get a strong career. So whatever you do, remember to use your time in school to learn everything you can so you can grow and have a strong career.

“Be a curious person, ask a lot of questions, learn from family and life experiences to become a strong person,” she said.

Seed Co managing director Ms Felistus Ndawi Gurajena said consistency is a key ingredient for success.

“What you choose to study, the effort you put in and your habits matter,” she said.
