The Seke community has praised President Mnangagwa for the various developments in their area, including the construction of the Mbudzi interchange saying the move will boost their businesses.
There were concerns by the farming community that the congestion at the Mbudzi Roundabout, which lasted up to five hours during peak periods, was resulting in farmers from areas such as Seke losing perishable crops before they reached markets.
“Seke Constituency is wholeheartedly thanking the New Dispensation and its listening leader, Cde Mnangagwa for the development projects in our area,” said legislator Cde Munyaradzi Kashambe.
“We have a lot of other devolution projects that are ongoing in the constituency, which indicates that the President means it when he says the Second Republic will leave no one and no place behind.
“The farming community, ice cream and yoghurt companies complained that their perishables were rotting stuck in transit at Mbudzi Roundabout and we raised that issue with the relevant ministry and authorities, and thanks to our listening President, Cde Mnangagwa, more than US$50 million was secured for the construction of the Mbudzi roundabout.”
Cde Kashambe said the imminent relocation of the Skyline Tollgate would also boost travel and the ease of doing business.
Motorists and farmers living in peri-urban areas who are paying toll fees twice a day to and from work or markets, have been expressing concern over the Skyline and Dema tollgates.
Cde Kashambe said apart from the infrastructure developments in his constituency, a lot more was happening across the country.
“Imagine it needed more than 12 hours to just cross Beitbridge Border Post into South Africa,” he said.
