A Marange man stands accused of killing his brother and tormenting the deceased’s family through goblins allegedly acquired from the late traditional healer, Sekuru Ndunge.
It is double trouble for the Mukumba family as the goblins that have allegedly been terrorising them are said to be both blood thirsty and sex-starved.
To quench their sexual thirst, the goblins allegedly turn to female family members; while for their blood thirst, they target males.
The Mukumba family believe that Rumbidzai Mukumba and her sisters are not married because of their uncle Knight Mukumba’s goblins.
According to Rumbidzai’s mother, only identified as Mai Mukumba, the goblins have been manifesting on her daughter.
The matter recently spilled to Chief Marange’s court were members of the Mukumba family dragged Knight as they accused him of possessing goblins.
Mai Mukumba said when suitors came asking for Rumbidzai’s hand in marriage, the Mukumbas, working on Knight’s instructions, refuse to accept the lobola.
“At first, they told me that it was not a good time for my daughter to get married. Later on they told me that Rumbi should not get married. Everyone knows why they do not want her to get married.
“Knight sacrificed my daughter for the sake of the goblins he possesses with his siblings Nori, Pamela and Barbra.
“They acquired the goblins from the late Sekuru Ndunge in Chipinge. The same goblins instructed them to kill my husband (their brother) as he was against the move. Knight and his sisters fatally assaulted my husband and grabbed our shops afterwards,” said Mai Mukumba.
She claimed that at one time, she caught her late husband’s siblings planting strange items on top of her wardrobe.
Mai Mukumba said she learnt that the strange objects were the goblins that are sexually abusing her daughters.
“After my husband’s death, they planted one of their goblins on top of my wardrobe. They told us that we would die if we touched it. They had bulldozed their way into my bedroom.
“They sprayed my children with unknown substances. It has been a tale of misfortunes thereafter. My children have since lost their jobs,” she said.

Mai Mukumba said when drunk, Knight and his sisters confess that they killed their two brothers.
Other family members also accused Knight of tormenting his late brother’s family, and appealed for assistance to discard the goblins.
They said the goblins are killing family members, adding that their lives are in danger as they do not know who is next.
In response, Knight insisted that he has nothing to do with the alleged goblins that are terrorising his late brother’s family.
“These are all lies. Whatever is happening to her family has nothing to do with me. I know they have been conducting some rituals at their home, trying to get rid of the misfortunes haunting them.
“I am not part of that. I have never planted anything in her house. They know the culprits but they want to shift all the blame on me,” he said.
Chief Marange ordered the Mukumba family to unite and ensure that the goblins are discarded.
“Before his death, Sekuru Ndunge ordered anyone who possessed charms obtained from him to surrender them back. Why did you not do that? It is sad that due to your greediness, your late brother’s family is now suffering. We will get to the bottom of this issue,” said Chief Marange.
The matter was adjourned to September 3 (Sunday) to allow the summoning of Nori, Pamela and Barbra as well as other relatives to testify.
