HILARIOUS comedian, Sekuru Zvambu of the “Bag Rabvaruka” fame is back on the showbiz radar with a bang after releasing a latest rib-cracking DVD, Chirimugango. What makes Sekuru Zvambu’s latest offering unique and a must watch is that he shot and produced it in Rusape’s sprawling high-density suburb of Vengere and also engaged local comedians.
Sekuru Zvambu, whose real name is Jabulani Sigauke partnered with the rising and talented Taurai “Gringaldinho” Boora, the son of veteran actor, Lazarus “Gringo” Boora in the latest production.
In an interview, Sigauke said Chirimugango was a social commentary whereby social ills and vices would be tackled in hilarious ways.
He said social misdeeds such as prostitution and violence would be exposed in the one hour, 40-minute long drama.
“I partnered with Gringaldinho and three actors from Rusape who are Tafadzwa Nyambiya, Lovemore Gumunyu and Innocent Ngundu whom I believe are talented. By engaging Gringaldinho, we wanted to give our fans undiluted fun and it also fosters working relationships among artistes.
“These entertainers from Rusape are conversant with their home areas so it was easy to identify themes of the drama.
“In Chirimugango, we are mainly tackling social vices such as corruption, violence, prostitution and others. The main character is Sekuru Zvambu a notorious old man who just wants to survive through anti-social means at the expense of others.
“We took our time to come up with this quality product and we are certain that it will be a huge success like our previous productions,” said the 26 year-old Sigauke.
Sekuru Zvambu features on Bag Rabvaruka Seasons One to Four, Mbambande, Disaster paMurambinda and Pfumvu Paruzevha.
