A SELF-STYLED Eastview prophet has been arrested for allegedly raping and infecting a woman with a sexually transmitted disease.
Edson Sarunyama is alleged to have raped his client, aged 20, after he summoned her for prayers.
Madzibaba Edson allegedly invited the woman to his house claiming that he wanted to pray for her. She agreed and proceeded to the house since she was suffering from some stomach pains and believed that she would be helped. Whe she arrived, the prophet was alone in his house.
“I asked for the prayers and he told me that he wanted to take me as his wife.
“He went on to lock the dining door from inside and forcibly took my cellphone and raped me.
“He removed the sim card and cut it into pieces. I pleaded with him to let me go but he forced me into his bedroom where he locked the door from inside again and raped me without protection.
“I blamed myself for visiting his house for prayers which turned into rape.”
She added: “After three days, I saw some blisters on my private parts and thought that it was something that was going to heal. I visited him and asked him about the blisters and he insisted on having more sexual intercourse with me in that state.”
She reported the case at Mabvuku Police Station under RRB 6955849 leading to the arrest of Madzibaba Edson.
