Selmor Mtukudzi will now participate at the inaugural Oliver Mtukudzi International Arts Festival (OMIFA) after holding talks with event coordinators.
Tuku Music Pvt Ltd, which runs the late icon’s affairs, is behind the two-day event that is scheduled to run from September 21 and 22 at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton.
The event is being held in memory of the late national hero, Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, who died in 2019.
However, the stable sparked public outrage after Selmor was excluded from the initial line-up of the festival.
Selmor said she was never contacted over the issue while Tuku’s widow Daisy Mtukudzi said Selmor did not respond to the organisers’ calls.
However, Selmor put the matter to sleep this afternoon after she announced on her social media handles that she was now part of the line-up.
“To all who spoke up for me, you have been amazing. I am humbled by the love you have for my father, which has been extended to me. I will not take it for granted.
“For that reason and in honour of my father’s legacy, I will be coming to Pakare Paye. Let’s do this right. I love you all,” said Selmor on her X handle.
