Music couple Selmor Mtukudzi and Tendai Manatsa will today stage their first public show this year at the Book Cafe.
Dubbed “Exciting Contemporary From the hot Young Music Couple” the show will see the two complementing each other on stage.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Selmor said they are very excited to be sharing stage publicly after a long period.

“We are just excited since it has been a while now since we last staged a public show together, we have prepared for the show and come Thursday (today) there are going to be fireworks,” she said.

She also said they are also going to be sampling some of their new songs that are on their upcoming album “Tendai Versus Selmor”.

“We want people to judge who is better than the other in terms of music between me and Tendai, so we will be sampling these new songs from the album ‘Tendai versus Selmor’ and our fans will judge,” she said before bursting into laughter.

Selmor encouraged their fans to come in large numbers and support them as well as judge them.

“We are encouraging our fans to come in numbers and have fun with us at the same time judging us.”

She added that their playlists will be rich with some of their popular songs as well as their new projects.

“We will be playing our popular solo songs as well as our collaborations including Tendai’s ‘Zvidikidiki’, ‘Ndichifema’ a collaboration he did with Stunner and ‘Nguva Yangu’ among others.”

Tendai, son to Zex Manatsa, and Selmor, the daughter of superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, have been performing together since 2005.

They have two albums together, “Ndinewe – I am with You” and “Tendai and Selmor Live.” Prior to this they had each recorded one solo album, “Kudzoka kwababa” and “Shungu,” respectively.

Selmor released a number of solo projects after parting ways musically with her father’s band.

Though Tendai once said they decided to try solo projects to allow both of them to reach their full potential, they have always been seen performing together.
