Senior magistrate Nyamupingidza dies

battling cancer for a long time. Burial has been slated for this afternoon in Chitungwiza. Spokesperson in the Chief Magistrates’ Office, provincial magistrate Mr Walter Chikwanha confirmed the death. He said Miss Nyamupingidza’s death was a great loss to the bench and the legal fraternity at large.

“Miss Nyamupingidza was a hardworking magistrate whose contribution to the magisterial bench would be greatly missed. This is a great loss not only to the magistrates’ department but to the entire legal fraternity. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
The Magistrates’ Association of Zimbabwe secretary-general Mr Munamato Mutevedzi sent a condolence message to the Nyamupingidza family. Mr Mutevedzi described Miss Nyamupingidza as a budding magistrate who had the potential to rise in the profession.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Miss Nyamupingidza’s mother and the entire family. We appreciate the pain they are in at the moment and we assure them that we will stand by them in these trying times.

“The magistracy in Zimbabwe will be poorer with her loss. Ms Nyamupingidza was a budding magistrate who had the potential to reach the very top,” he said.
Both Mr Chikwanha and Mr Mutevedzi hailed the Judicial Service Commission for their unwavering support during Miss Nyamupingidza’s illness. Mr Chikwanha said JSC assisted in paying her medical bills.
