Serial burglar jailed 8 years

A burglar, who unleashed a reign of terror on Chitungwiza residents by breaking into their houses stealing property worth over $2 000, was yesterday sentenced to eight effective years in prison.

Kidwell Taruvinga (24) of Unit O pleaded guilty to eight counts of unlawful entry into premises in aggravated circumstances when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Blessing Murwisi. Ms Murwisi slapped him with a 12-year prison term and suspended two years on condition of good behaviour. The other two years were suspended on condition he pays back $1 633 to the complainants.
