CONVICTED fraudster, Deajury Doro, and her accomplice, Fungai Nyenge, appeared in court yesterday facing fresh fraud charges related to meat.
The first complainant, Tinashe Chikwasha, who operates a butchery in DZ Extension, was introduced to Doro by Edmore Sembere under the pretext that Doro wanted to buy one tonne of beef.
Chikwasha agreed to supply the beef and slaughtered two beasts and took the beef to the showgrounds.
He found Doro in the company of Nyenge and one Geza Five, also known as Daniel Hove.
Police officers on patrol took them to the police station for interviews.
Chikwasha produced relevant documentation and was released together with his meat and left Doro at the police station.
After his release Nyenge told Chikwasha that she had a ready market and told the complainant that Doro was a well-known fraudster.
Acting on the misrepresentation, Chikwasha then supplied 585.2kgs of beef to Nyenge and signed an invoice with her full particulars acknowledging receipt of beef valued at US$2 136.
She became evasive and Chikwasha filed a police report.
