Serial housebreaking gang arrested

A SERIAL housebreaking gang has been arrested in Bulawayo for allegedly stealing electrical appliances, cellphones and property worth more than R4000.

Nhlanhla Masuku (20), Mhleli Ngwenya (20) and Reason Gumede whose age was not given are facing charges of unlawful entry and theft.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the arrest following a tip off from members of the public.

“I can confirm that we arrested three suspects in connection with cases of unlawful entry and theft and they are expected to appear in court soon,” said Insp Ncube.

He said police received a tip off from members of the public that Masuku, a known criminal, was selling a car battery in Cowdray Park suburb.

Insp Ncube said police made a follow up and located Masuku who implicated his other accomplices.

Police recovered the stolen goods valued at R4 000. “The police conducted a search at Masuku’s residence. He later implicated the other two suspects and one man identified as Dan is still on the run.-@mthabisi_mthire.
