MULTIPLE homicide suspect Anymore Zvitsva appeared  in court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including attempted murder, rape and robbery.

Zvitsva smiled in court as prosecutor Mr Lancelot Mutsokoti outlined the charges and facts before magistrate Mr Francis Mapfumo.

The matter was rolled over to today for a pre-sentence hearing and sentencing.

The charges are five counts of attempted murder, four counts of rape and one count of robbery.

The court heard that on October 9 last year, the complainant Providence Maruza (27) was asleep in her room at Ditwi Village, Chiwe Farm, Raffingora, when Zvitsva allegedly entered through an unlocked door.

Armed with an Okapi knife and a snare wire, Zvitsva allegedly threatened to kill Maruza if she screamed before tying her hands and legs with wire.

He allegedly dragged her to a thicket in the Dangemuri Mountains where he raped her once.

After the assault, the court heard, Zvitsva stabbed her once on the back and neck before leaving the scene.

In another incident on October 27 last year, Zvitsva allegedly attacked 62-year-old Reginet Sango at Mudhindo Village under Chief Bepura in Kachuta, Guruve.

The court heard that Sango was fetching water at a local borehole when Zvitsva, armed with a machete, confronted her and demanded sex.

Sango allegedly tried to flee into nearby bushes, but Zvitsva chased and caught up with her before striking her once on the head and once on the left arm with the machete, causing her to fall.

He then allegedly raped her once without protection before strangling her with a wire around the neck and leaving her unconscious.

The court also heard that on the same day, Zvitsva allegedly attacked Brian Ngoshi, who was walking home from Kachuta Business Centre.

Armed with a machete, Zvitsva allegedly struck Ngoshi twice on the head, causing him to collapse on the road.

He then allegedly strangled him with a wire until he lost consciousness before stealing a cigarette lighter and a packet of Madison cigarettes.

Zvitsva allegedly left Ngoshi unconscious at the scene before a passerby alerted his aunt.
