Serial robber, rapist jailed for 85years in prison

A SERIAL rapist and robber (35) has been sentenced to 85 years in prison.

Without naming the criminal, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said the Harare Magistrate court sentenced him on 14 counts of rape, 2 attempted rape cases, 13 counts of robbery and one count of unlawful entry, all committed around Churu farm and Glenview in Harare.

The accused went on a crime spree between December 2021 and January 2023, and committed crimes that include rape, attempted robbery and unlawful entry.
He would break into complainants’ houses armed with either iron bars, screwdrivers, kitchen knives or a catapult that he used to threaten them with when he raped or robbed them.

Only 10 years of his sentence were suspended, leaving him with an effective 75 years to serve.
