Seven perish in road accident

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Patrick Chademana said the seven were members of an apostolic sect going to a church meeting in Chirumanzu.
He said the Isuzu which had three people encroached onto the lane of the Nissan, causing the collision.
Five people in the Nissan including the driver, Peter Machaya, died on the spot while two others, a husband and wife, died on admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital. The names of the deceased will be released when their relatives have been informed.
The 12 who were injured were taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital.
Seven more people were injured when the driver of a Toyota Hiace failed to negotiate a curve and the kombi overturned long the Kwekwe-Gokwe Road on Sunday.
