Seven win big in MBCA promotion

US$5 000.

Mr John Makura and Ms Anna Chipinduro, also of Southerton branch, won US$1 000 each for the month of March while Mr Tinashe Chawaipira from the Jason Moyo branch and Mr Victor Mazengero from Mutare won US$1 000 each for the month of April.

Mr George Imbowa from Bulawayo and Mr Sibonginkosi Ngwenya of Southerton branch were each the recipients of the US$1 000 prize money for May.

To qualify for the draw, one had to open an account and maintain a balance of US$250 for any full calendar month within the three months of the campaign.

MBCA head of sales Mr Godfrey Mubvumbi said the promotion, which ran under the theme “We Get You”, started on March 1 and ended on May 31, 2013.

“The promotion was motivated by our desire to appreciate our clients’ continued support and attract new clients to our bank.

“I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all our prize winners tonight,” he said.

Mr Mubvumbi added that as a bank they were progressively looking at ways to satisfy their customers’ needs through opening of new branches, the deployment of ATMs in different locations nationwide and unveiling new projects such as mobile banking.

“Mobile banking is now at an advanced stage. Its launch will widen our delivery channels and offer convenience and security to our valued clients. With our mobile banking, clients will be able to pay their utility bills, transfer funds and check account balances.

“The mobile banking platform is also expected to complement Government efforts towards financial inclusion,” he said.

Mr Mubvumbi said they had also partnered with South African-based money transfer agency, Mukuru.com, in order to facilitate the flow of money from Zimbabweans living in the Diaspora into the country.

In addition, he said, all their staff members were attending customer service training sessions every month to offer excellent service to the clients.

Mrs Chimbumu, who was naturally elated about scooping the top prize, said it was her first time to win a prize.

“I was not expecting this. It is my first time to win a prize, let alone a lot of money like this. I urge all customers to save money in their accounts,” she said.
