Sewage flows into new Zengeza 4 homes

A HEALTH hazard looms in New Zengeza 4 where sewage is flowing into some houses.

Residents blasted Chitungwiza Town Council for not taking action, two months after they reported the issue.

One affected resident, Dylan Guwuriro (27), said the fact that the council has not taken action for two months was unacceptable.

He said it was the responsibility of council to ensure that sewage systems were working properly and that residents were not exposed to such health hazards.

Dylan said they have been forced to fetch water from a nearby borehole.

“We called the town council but, but it appears they failed attend to the matter,” said Dylan

He said raw sewerage was flowing into the nearby REMA Church until the church leaders blocked it. 

No comment could be obtained from the town council officials.
