A GUYU man flew into a murderous rage and bludgeoned his wife to death with a hoe after she told him he was useless in bed — and that her secret lover was a tiger between the sheets.
Ndabayezulu Ncube (62) had just finished supper with his family when he and his wife, Nokuthula Khumalo (45), retired to bed. But instead of romance, 19 June 2017 ended in bloodshed.
When Ncube asked for his conjugal rights, Khumalo shoved him away. Then came the final blow, a brutal confession.
“She told him he was weak in bed,” said his lawyer in court. “She added that her lover satisfied her more.”
Blinded by rage, Ncube grabbed a hoe and smashed her face repeatedly, killing her in a pool of blood. After the horror, he covered her body with a blanket and walked to the police station to confess.
A shocked witness, Thabiso Nkala, said: “We had supper as a family. The next morning I found my stepmother dead, in a pool of blood.”
Another witness, Wellington Moyo, added: “There were bloodstains on the wall. Her body was soaked in blood. It was horrifying.”
Justice Naison Chivayo found Ncube guilty of murder and sentenced him to 15 years behind bars.
A bedroom insult turned into a death sentence, proving once again that words can kill.
