A sex worker from Bulawayo was allegedly gang raped by her client and two accomplices at knife point and later robbed of her phone.
Tyron Ndebele (29) from Matsheumhlophe suburb hired the woman (30) for her services and then called his friends who came and joined him in the alleged sexual assault.
Ndebele was not asked to plead to rape and robbery charges before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Sthembiso Ncube who remanded him in custody to June 6 for trial.
For the State, Ms Tafadzwa Mutsambiwa alleged that on February 7 this year, Ndebele hired the woman for her services before taking her to his house.
“At around 9PM, the woman was soliciting for clients along 13th Avenue and Josiah Tongogara Street when she was approached by Ndebele who asked for her services the whole night. The woman charged him $25 and they boarded a taxi going to his house,” the prosecutor said.
“They found Ndebele’s gate locked, so he called one of his friends inviting him to join them. They proceeded to another friend’s house. While they were undressing, there was a knock on the door and his two friends entered.
“Ndebele produced a knife and ordered the woman to lie on the bed. The two men took turns to rape her without using protection and Ndebele also took his turn and raped the woman.”
Ms Mutsambiwa said at around 4AM, the three woke up and took turns to rape the woman again.
“They escorted her to a bushy area, forced her to lie on the ground and raped her again. During the process, the woman’s cellphone alarm rang and Ndebele took her cellphone valued at $165,” she said. — @MondelaC
