Masomere who has previously won the championship with Amazulu and has coached various clubs including CAPS United, champions Dynamos and Masvingo United was handed a two-year ban for his alleged role in the Asiagate scam.
The veteran coach has however insisted that he did not take part in match-fixing and has since appealed against the ban.
“We all know that Luke (Masomere) was suspended by Zifa and we are not going to be appointing another coach because he is our coach. He has appealed the suspension and as a club we stand by him. Masomere is also employed by Shabanie Mine and people should know that he is our employee,” said Mataka.
“How will he feel if we appoint another coach? He is currently going through some hard times and we are behind him. I know that very soon results for the appeal will be out and that is the only time we can make a decision as an executive because there is no way we can start the season before the results of the appeal has been announced.
Mataka also recently denied that Shabanie Mine were in a crisis despite the team having only three registered players of which one of them is currently undergoing trails with Buffaloes in Mutare.
The Shabanie boss is hopeful that players from relegated Gunners, Hardbody, Quelaton and other teams who have players who want to command a first team jersey will flock to the mining town.
Tarisai Rukanda is a wanted man at FC Platinum and he is likely to join the club after a deadly combination with top goalscorer Nelson Maziwisa this year.
Most players at Shabanie are still to be paid their signing on fees since 2010 while Erea Phiri, Blessed Mbavarira, and William Ngonya are the only registered players for the asbestos miners so far.
However, the Premiership transfer window remains open until March and Shabanie seem to have time on their side to put together a new side.
