“I would like to offer an apology on behalf of the club, the fans and everyone involved with Shabanie Mine to Zifa, PSL and the sponsors for the behaviour of our fans.
“It was not right to throw missiles on the pitch which forced the match to end before normal time. It was a very unfortunate incident. The fans were irked by the assistant referees whom I strongly feel failed to take charge of their duties. We do a lot for the team and we put funds but it pains to see us losing the match in such a way.” Shabanie now want to start an anti-violence campaign at their home matches aimed at educating their fans on hooliganism.
The abandoned match has been referred to the PSL Disciplinary Committee.
