Shariwa focuses on building strong project

ZIFA Eastern Region Division One Soccer League FC Wangu Mazodze coach, Taku Shariwa, said his project is gaining ground since he took over at the Masvingo-based side.

Wangu Mazodze take on Ruwa at Mucheke at the weekend and they are coming from a 1-2 defeat away from JM Busha.

“This weekend, we play Ruwa, and it’s an important match for us,” said Shariwa.

“Ruwa has been non-predictable and sees the number of games they have lost. “They have only lost two games, which is the fewest, when you don’t include Green Fuel.

“It’s a good side being coached by an experienced gaffer.

“We are playing the game at Mucheke Stadium and this is our fortress. This is where we grind results and we expect to continue with that trend.

“We want to show the fans good football, who shall throng to the stadium.

“They won’t be disappointed because it is a promising and bruising encounter.”

He added:

“So, it’s a must-win game for us as we want to be in the Top 5, so we need to derail teams that are on top of us.

“Possession play is something new to the youngsters, they have got raw talent and now we need to implement tactical aspects in their game.

“They are slowly learning and will be able to apply it in the game of football.”

Shariwa is aiming to finish in the top five.

“Our target is just to be in the top five and see what happens next season as we are starting to rebuild.

“We have been rebuilding slowly and our major task was to improve the team.”
