A PART-TIME satellite dish installer has been taken to court by his ex-wife for failing to take care of his child.
Caroline Muteweye demanded $80 000 as maintenance from former husband, Samuel Tapson, at the Harare Civil Court yesterday.
“Your Worship, I want Samuel to provide for our child.
“He does not even buy groceries or clothes,” she said.
Samuel said he could not afford $80 000 because he doesn’t have a permanent job.
“The amount she is demanding is too much.
“I am a part-time satellite dish installer who gets jobs by chance.
“As such, I can only offer $10 000 for my child’s welfare because I am afraid of defaulting,” he said.
Caroline accepted the offer and her application was granted by consent, by magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini.
