SHE HAD AN AFFAIR, I FORGAVE HER, SHE THEN REPEATED IT

A HARARE couple engaged in a heated argument soon after a protection order application was thrown out at the Civil Court yesterday.

Spiwe Gwero had accused her husband, only identified as Batanai in the court papers, of being abusive.

She claimed Batanai had threatened to kill her on many occasions.

“My husband insults and threatens me with death.

“I no longer have peace anymore, and he chased me away from home.

“I didn’t have an affair with anyone, and the man in question raped me and is in prison because of that,” Spiwe said.

However, Batanai denied the accusations.

He said Spiwe applied for the protection order to conceal her extramarital affair.

Batanai said Spiwe’s affair made it impossible for them to attend church services.

“She had an affair with someone from church and we were banned from attending services.

“She left home on her own.

“When she had an affair in 2019, I forgave her, but last year she repeated the same mistake,” Batanai said.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi, dismissed the application saying Spiwe was trying to use the court to have extramarital affairs.
