A WOMAN has been granted a protection order against her daughter-in-law after she proved she was verbally and physically abusing her.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the application by Jennifer Sharunga against her daughter-in-law, Beauty Murenga, after presenting relevant evidence to the court.

“She insults and beats me up for no reason. She also dumps her kids at my place without telling me.

“Her husband is in Hwange, and she must go there and stop harassing me in my own house .

“l can no longer stay with her because of her attitude and violent behaviour. l just want her to stay away from my house,” said Jennifer.

Beauty denied the accusations saying she only sought a place to stay with her children.

“Your Worship, if you grant her the protection order l will have no place to stay with my kids.

“l never assaulted her and l have no intention of leaving her with my children.

“l don’t have anyway to stay with my kids while waiting for my husband to come back,” she said.
