‘She is bragging that her new boyfriend is rich’

A HARARE man is living in fear of his former wife who keeps humiliating him at his house.

Ernest Mahewu accused his ex-wife, Sekai Kanongola, of teaming up with her new boyfriend to embarrass him.

He revealed this when applying for a protection order against her, citing physical, verbal and emotional abuse.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order by consent.

“She is bragging that her new boyfriend is rich.

“She beats me up, which has resulted in my eyes developing problems.

“I also suffered fractured ribs and a dislocated shoulder,” he said.

Sekai said she had no problem with Ernest being granted a protection order.

“All that he said are lies. I have never been to his place of residence since we separated.

“I don’t mind the court granting him the protection order because it won’t affect me,” she said.
