THE 71-year-old Hatfield man, whose family claims he is being sexually abused by a woman who was hired as a nurse aide to take care of him, has told H-Metro that the two are MADLY in love.
Herbert Mlambo has told his children, who have been at the forefront of spreading allegations that the nurse aide, Sithembile Chipere, 61, is sexually abusing him, to give him, and his sweetheart, the space they need to ensure their relationship works.
Mlambo divorced his wife while Chipere lost her husband.
They both stay in the Hatfield neighbourhood of Harare.
Mlambo told H-Metro that his relationship with Chipere was now at an advanced stage that they were even planning to tie the knot soon after finalising his divorce papers.
“It’s only that my lawyers and those of my ex-wife have been distorting what we agreed on, we could have been staying together as husband and wife (with Chipere), nemuchato zve,” said Mlambo.
“My last born child is aged 37 and that means they are all adults who are supposed to be independent not dependent.
“Their continued misunderstanding with Sithembile has become a nuisance in my life and I need space.
“I have the right to take this woman as my wife but one of my daughters is too jealousy to the extent of trying to appear as if she in my wife.”
He added:
“I separated with my wife some years ago and she never came to question about my new relationship but my children are concerned about it.
“How can I be sexually abused as if I am a kid, they must know that I am an adult, and they are adults as well, and they should mind their own lives.
“I was flabbergasted, to say the least, to read that I was a victim of sexual abuse.”
Chipere told H-Metro that she is not a nurse aide although she has been nursing Mlambo since Covid-19 period.
“I want to put the record straight that I am not a nurse aide and I have never been one,” said Chipere.
“I have been in love with Herbert for the past seven years and once stayed with him during Covid-19, nursing him.
“No one paid me for that but Herbert did in a different way and we love each other.
“I am a widow and he is a single man so nothing can disturb us from enjoying conjugal rights.”
She added:
“We signed an agreement with Herbert’s children about visiting their family house since there is a will which was written.
“In the will, my name is not there but their names are there and I have no intention of taking over Herbert’s house in the event that he is first to be glorified.
“Our relationship is not for material things but it’s about affection, fondness and a real feel for each other.”
Chipere is not allowed to be at Mlambo’s family house, according to their agreement.
One of Mlambo’s sons, Tafadzwa, 37, found Chipere at the house and he took the matter to police leading to her arrest.
She appeared in court where she was remanded out of custody to Tuesday next week.
One of Mlambo’s children described the relationship between Chipere and Mlambo as the sexual abuse of the latter.
“My father’s health condition is not sound but Sithembile keeps abusing him to the extent of putting words in his mouth and it’s a form of serious abuse that needs to be looked at.
“My father was forced to separate with his legal wife five years ago due to Sithembile’s advances in the name of checking on his health condition,” said the child.
