A 20-year-old Chitungwiza man was attacked by a shebeen king who suspected he was having a relationship with one of his employees.
Romeo Hwiridza sustained a swollen face after he was attacked by Kuda Sithole, popularly known as Ludha in Unit B, Seke, who runs the shebeen.
He suspected Romeo was having a relationship with Tildah Mbabvu.
The case was reported at Chitungwiza Police Station under RRB 6128243.
Ludha is yet to be arrested.
Romeo told H-Metro:
“Kuda was the first to attack me and the other man joined in.
“He accused me of dating his employee.
“I am not in love with his employee as alleged.
“On the day in question I had left my cell phone charging since the shebeen queen was playing music from my mobile phone.
“Upon returning to collect my phone, that is when Kuda attacked me.”
Romeo was forced to seek refuge at Apostle Chiutsi’s house.
Apostle Juliet Chiutsi told H-Metro:
“Romeo was badly attacked and the place has become a nuisance within the community.
“Kuda and his sister tried to negotiate with Romeo and myself to try and avoid lodging a police report against him. We could not tolerate that considering the injuries sustained.
“They offered to pay for his medication.”
