Sheltered cousin turns rapist

A 20-year-old man from Jotsholo turned into a monster after being offered accommodation by his juvenile cousins and allegedly raped one of them while the other watched in horror. Police have since launched a man hunt for Dingisani Isheunesu Ndlovu who forced himself onto a 15-year-old girl in front of her 12-year-old sister.

Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese said the incident happened on December 26, 2013 at about 8PM.

She said the two juveniles were alone at the homestead and slept in their bedroom hut as their parents had gone to Hwange.
“The accused who is their cousin brother arrived and asked for a place to sleep and was offered the kitchen hut,” Asst Insp Makonese said.

“Around 9PM the complainant and her sister heard some noise coming from the kitchen where their cousin brother was sleeping and they went out to investigate.”

She said on entering the kitchen hut the accused grabbed the complainant by her hand and dragged her back to their bedroom hut and raped her once in the presence of her sister before disappearing into the darkness.

Asst Insp Makonese said the victim confided the matter to her mother on December 29 who reported the matter to the police.
“The accused is at large,” she said.
