AFTER weeks of speculation, Highlanders captain Ariel Sibanda has renewed his contract with the club for an additional two years.
Sibanda’s previous contract had expired on December 31, and negotiations for a new deal have now been successfully concluded.

He has also been returned the captains vehicle which he had handed over to the club after the expiration of his contract.
Now the same car has been handed back to Sibanda and is now officially his, according to Highlanders chairman, Kenneth Mhlophe.
“As a token of appreciation for Ariel for his years and dedication to Highlanders FC, the car is now his, we have given it to him,” said Mhlophe.
There had been suggestions that Sibanda might take on a role as a junior team goalkeeper coach, but he has opted to continue his playing career.

At 34 years old, Sibanda is a long-serving goalkeeper who has spent 15 years with Highlanders.
He has been an integral part of the team, leading by example and earning numerous accolades, including four Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
