Ozias could also not name the clubs that his sibling will be attached to.
Sibanda had stints with Hwange under Paul Moyo where he spent a year training with the team after his registration papers disappeared under unclear circumstances but the veteran gaffer had so much faith in him that he still persuaded company management to give Sibanda a contract as he saw enormous talent in the young man.
Moyo was later relieved of his duties as the team was to be relegated at the end of that year and the following season in Division One, Sibanda shone like a beacon and was the reason behind the coal miners’ quick return to the top-flight league.
He came to Highlanders for trials but he was deemed excess baggage by the Bosso technical team, forcing him to pack his bags and head for the capital where Motor Action gladly welcomed him.
Sibanda had a blinder of a season and at the end of the year, scribes duly crowned him the king of local football, joining the list of great players like George Shaya, Peter Nyama, Mercedes Sibanda, Peter Ndlovu, Joel Shambo, Moses Chunga, Dazzy Kapenya, Zenzo Moyo among a host of previous Soccer Stars of the Year.
The most famous player in Oman football is Barclays Premiership side Wigan’s goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi who also plays for the Oman national team.
He was in goal last week when Wigan stunned Southampton 2-0 in front of their own fans.
