HIGHLANDERS captain Ariel Sibanda says his side is ready to collect all three points when they take on Scottland at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
He’s backing Bosso to deliver.
Chicken Inn, meanwhile, are back at Luveve Stadium on Saturday, hoping to shake off inconsistency and a worrying lack of firepower in front of goal when they host ZPC Kariba.
The Luveve turf hasn’t been kind to Chicken Inn this season. So poor has their home form been that at one point, the club considered switching base to Barbourfields Stadium.
Last week, they fell 1–0 away to FC Platinum, with the lone goal proving the difference.
Yet, on paper, Chicken Inn remain a strong outfit. With hard-running wingers like Michael Charamba and Brian Muza, midfield depth in Joseph Thulani and George Majika, and a solid backline, they always look capable.
ZPC Kariba, then, shouldn’t expect a leisurely outing in Bulawayo.
Highlanders, fresh from a morale-boosting 1–0 win over GreenFuel, are pushing for back-to-back victories. Sibanda believes the timing couldn’t be better to build momentum.
All eyes will be on the clash against Scottland, and Sibanda says his squad will rise to the challenge.
“We’ll bring the energy and excitement. The team is ready to put on a show for our amazing fans and secure a great result,” said Sibanda.
It’s a message delivered with intent. Bosso are still trying to find consistency after a patchy run, but last week’s win could be the spark they’ve needed.
For Sibanda, the trip to Harare is a chance to turn that flicker into a flame.
“It’s a challenging encounter for us as we aim for a winning streak. We’re not taking lightly the circumstances around our opponent this week,” he added.
Scottland FC, sitting fourth on the table, are a side with ambition, but their home form has been unsteady. They’ve picked up just four points from a possible 12 at Rufaro.
Still, with coach Tonderai Ndiraya adding Zimbabwe international Terrence Dzvukamanja, Malawian forward Khuda Myaba, and Namibian midfielder Moses Shidolo to his squad, the hosts won’t be pushovers.
Sibanda, however, remains committed to the mission.
“We’re confident and well prepared. The team has been working hard in training, fine-tuning our tactics and approach. The players are motivated and eager to take on the challenge.
We’re expecting a tough but exciting match, and we’re ready to give it everything and make our fans proud,” he said.
In a boost ahead of the tie, Highlanders’ injury list has eased. Interim coach Try Ncube now has more options, with Mafios Chihweta, Tendai Muvuti, Archford Faira, and Marlvin Hativagoni all returning to full training.
However, Bosso will be without Arthur Ndlovu and Mason Mushore, both serving suspensions.
